OASIS: Mid-Week Refuge for the Soul, gives us a chance to recharge and refocus on Christ each Wednesday. Come enjoy dinner and then participate in discipleship groups arranged by age and interest.  OASIS is structured in trimesters (Spring, Summer & Fall), providing entry and exit points three times a year - giving everyone multiple opportunities to serve or study.

ADULTS
Co-ed: Five Practices Class (first 5 weeks)

All attendees of St. James are encouraged to enroll in this core class on the five discipleship practices which form the basis for a common understanding of what a follower of Christ looks like.  Hear from various staff members as they utilize their areas of passion & expertise to lead this study.

Co-ed: The Reason for God by Timothy Keller(last 5 weeks)

Pastor & author, Timothy Keller, meets with a group of people over five sessions to address their doubts and objections to Christianity.  Using literature, philosophy, personal experience & the Bible, Keller and the group explore the truths of the Christian faith.

Co-ed: Personal Communication with God

Many of us know what God desires in a relationship with us...but we don't know how to experience it each and every day.  We try to pray, but it just doesn't seem to "work."  Sometimes God feels so close and at others, it's as if He is not there at all.  We struggle to be better, pray better, live better, but we still struggle...and then there's the guilt.  Join this group as we journey together to experience what prayer was meant to be.  Whether you are newly Christian or a seasoned prayer warrior, this class will help you to learn to personally communicated with God in a way that is encouraging and fulfilling.

Weekly Preparation: 20-30 minutes of exercises per day, including study, reading & prayer

Co-ed: Starting Point - Find your Place in the Story by Andy Stanley

Starting Point is an accepting, conversational environment where people can learn about God's story and their place in it.  In addition to helping participants to begin to understand the Bible and key truths of the Chrisitian faith, Starting Point encourages community through honest exploration.

Parenting: Making Your Children Mind Without Losing Yours

Come discover practical ways to bring out the best in your kids, by doing what is best for them. Through the use of Dr. Kevin Leman's "reality discipline" techniques, you will learn to develop a loving, no-nonsense approach to raising children.  You'll laugh and enjoy this supportive environment to discuss growing kids God's way.

Home Hosts Pilot of GodQuest (3 wk. pilot to coincide w/ Feb. launch)

St. James is in the process of launching home small groups and those individuals who are willing to host a group in their home are invited to preview the curriculum and receive basic instructions on how to host a small group Bible study. The curriculum includes six signposts to guide you along your journey, including truths on the topics of God, creation, the Bible, the identity of Jesus, the problem of suffering and the path to Heaven.

CHILDREN

Kids K-5th grade are invited to participate in the preparations for a special Easter Children's Musical during this trimester of OASIS.  Kids can participate through song, acting, stage design, production or backstage assistance, there is something for every child!  There will also be a preschool part in the production for children ages 5 & under.  Childcare for ages 3 & under will also be provided.

MIDDLE SCHOOL & HIGH SCHOOL

Our youth ministry desires to ignite passion in our students by offering solid Wednesday night programming from 6:30-8:15pm. Weekly our students will experience passionate worship through a stellar service in the P.I.T. which includes:

  • Live worship with “The Band”
  • Solid messages
  • Big group talk sessions
  • Small groups
